We recently asked our 2017 Day Camp Leadership Team members a few questions to help you and campers get to know them a bit better in preparation for this coming summer!
Meet Bekah Ternes!
Q: How many summers have you worked for the Day Camp?
A: “This will be my 5th summer working for Tate’s Day Camp.”
Q: What is your official job title?
A: “I am the Assistant Director for the Explorer Program.”
Q: Can you explain your role this coming summer?
A: “I will work with Jonathan Hodge to direct the camp activities of Explorer and Adventure campers (age 7-13) and their counselors. We work to create programming storylines as well as activities related to the weekly themes. I also create a challenge for the 9/10 year old campers each Thursday.”
Q: What do you enjoy most about Tate’s Day Camp?
A: “I love working with campers and counselors, and watching them grow throughout the summer. I love getting to be a part of the atmosphere at Tate’s, and the unique learning experiences that happen for all of us each summer. Also, camp is fun! I love that my job description changes each day and usually involves some sort of dodgeball.”
Q: Are you in school? If so, what are you studying and why?
A: “I am in grad school at Carson Newman University studying to get my masters in school counseling.”
Q: What are you excited most about for this coming summer?
A: “I can’t wait for camp to start. I look forward to so many different aspects of camp and I can’t wait for day 1!”
