We recently asked a few of our staff members some questions so that you could get to know them better as camp nears. Meet Morgan Taylor!
Q. How many summer’s have you worked at Tate’s Day Camp?
A. I have worked for Tate’s Day Camp for four summers. During the school year I also work for the aftercare program at Tate’s School.
Q. What is your job title?
A. I am the Assistant Explorer Program Director.
Q. What does your job entail?
A. As Assistant Explorer Program Director, my job will be to work closely with the Explorer and Adventure side of camp as well as communicate with parents and help train the staff. It’s an important role as often I’m one of the first ones called when a commode stops up. My utility belt includes a radio, container of Band-Aids, and a commode plunger.
Q. What is your favorite part about camp?
A. My favorite part about camp is the atmosphere. Counselors have just as much fun as the campers and we get to experience camp alongside them. We participate from the field, not the sidelines. I also love working with the excellent staff that we put together and love seeing them grow and become more confident in their abilities.
Q. Are you currently in school? If so, what are you studying?
A. I am currently enrolled in the 2+2 Education Program through Tennessee Tech and Pellissippi State. I want to use the skills I have learned at Tate’s to help myself become a better teacher.
Q. What are you most looking forward to this summer?
A. I look forward to returning to Tate’s throughout the entire school year. I have never worked at a place that has such an inviting and energetic culture. I can’t wait to meet the staff and see what this summer has in store. I also look forward to reconnecting with my returning campers and meeting the new ones. Tate’s is truly magical.
