We recently asked a few of our staff members some questions so that you could get to know them better as camp nears. Meet Rand Clapp!
Q. How many summer’s have you worked at Tate’s Day Camp?
A. This will be my 3rd summer at Tate’s Day Camp.
Q. What is your job title?
A. I’m the Yellow Jackets counselor in the 7/8 year-old group.
Q. What does your job entail?
A. I will be working with 7/8 year old kids each week. I lead a group of kids throughout each day doing various activities. These activities include swimming, dodge ball, zip line, art, and more! Besides that, I also get to sing, dance, act, and play games!
Q. What is your favorite part about camp?
A. The thing I enjoy the most at Tate’s is watching children overcome their fears and have fun. A specific example of this is watching children dive for the first time. They may be super scared at first, but then they dive in (with some help) and always come out with a smile!
Q. Are you currently in school? If so, what are you studying?
A. I’m a junior at the University of Tennessee studying Accounting. This wasn’t what I thought I’d be studying when I started college, but I found out I’m good with numbers and accounting just stuck!
Q. What are you most looking forward to this summer?
A. I’m looking forward to the dodge ball battle! The 7/8s played well last year but lost, so this year we’re coming back with vengeance!
